Can anyone of us even imagine our lives without the Internet? Hasn't it Revolutionized our lives in big ways? So lets deal with certain topics related to the Internet

Mr Bill Gates, i think the man needs no introduction in regard to the Internet, says,that "the Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow" isn't it true! so lets exactly acquaint ourselves so as to What is the Internet? What are its types of connection? moreover What are its advantages and disadvantages?

Today, the Internet has become so common that,people who do not use the Internet are considered to be as Clumsy.The technological advances and education and knowledge has made everyone an expert in using the Internet. so lets deal with certain aspects of the Internet.


Firstly, WHAT IS THE INTERNET?? In simple words, the Internet is nothing but,a global networking connecting millions of computers, and makes use of the IPS i.e. the Internet Protocol Suite to serve billions of users all over the globe. Lets now talk about the " HISTORY OF THE INTERNET"? The origin dates back to the 1960's era when the US funded a research project of its military agencies to built a robust. This period of funding and research done by the US has spawned in the world wide participation in the development of new networking technologies and led to the mobilization of an international network around about in 1990's and resulted in the popularization of applications in virtually every aspect of the new modern human life. In regard to the Internet one of the most prominent part of the Internet is the IP i.e. the Internet Protocol, which provides an addressing system for the computers,it enables inter networking. Researchers have found out that,the IP Version 4 is the initial version used on the first generation of today's Internet and is still dominantly used.

So apart from the history lets have a brief review of its features,its like once you have connected to the Internet you nearly are connected to the entire globe,this is because,the basic architecture of the Internet is open and this powerful communication medium has rapidly spread out and has made it the age of multi-techno electronic village..Another feature of the Internet is that,it very well works at light speed and gives equal access to all the people around the globe who are making use of the Internet at the personal and professional purposes.The Internet has been considerably in its state of progress in all the area's of technology.An important point to be noted here is that apart from progress the Internet has a major role in providing free information as well as provided the people across the world the freedom of expression. Dial up Method:
The Dial up Method is one of the oldest and slowest method of Internet Connection It makes use of the Phone line being connected to the PC and makes use of the modem for connecting to the Internet.

DSL Method:
In this type of connection the PC is connected separately to the DSL modem. This Method is much faster in connection than the Dial up method, moreover it allows the computer to be connected to the internet,while someone can make use of the phone.

Lastly grave disadvantage of the Internet is Addiction and the availability of misappropriate websites.
One of the most grave misuse of the Internet is the access of children and youngsters to misappropriate sites,also unnecessary addiction to such sites may lead to harmful exposure and have bad influence over the person's mental health. In order to avoid such incidents,Even though the Internet,has bought the entire world closer,in many ways it has destroyed relationships and has brought about destructive influence over the growth and development of youngsters,the parents should always actively guide and guard the activities of their children using the Internet. Today, technology has advanced to such an extent,that in order to avoid such things, one can make use of certain tools which can keep the Internet Environment safer and healthier for our young GEN X.
